Kind, positive and reward based care

Optimistic Dogs - Dog Walking

Areas I cover:
Grove Park, Bromley, Mottingham, Chislehurst and surrounding areas.

I am qualified, experienced, and professional dog walker based in the Bromley area. Not only that, I am also a dog trainer which gives me a deeper understanding of dogs and their behaviour and what dogs are more suited to each other.

My dogs are my world so I know how important they are to you. Their well being and care is my number one priority and all dogs are treated as mine own.

A walk isn’t just a walk when in my care I like to make sure they have fun, they do things they like be it chase a ball or sniff. I also give them lots of hugs and kisses (if they want them), they get lots of mental stimulation and walks meet their needs. I walk no more than 4 dogs at one time.

Since the age of 10 I have always walked dogs in my area mainly for older clients who couldn’t walk their dogs or owners that were at work. Walking dogs has always been in my blood.

I have a fully secure van with crates no dog shares a crate they all have their own space. It has lights and air con and a fan. It is all kitted out with everything your dog needs for all weathers and safe travels. You are more than welcome to look at the van at the meet and greet.

When I walk dogs together for the first time I often spend my time watching their body language to make sure they are not worried around any dog in that group, I often will take one of my own dogs, mainly my older dog as she is laid back if they don’t like her then it gives me a better understanding of what that dog would be more suited to. For me making sure dogs are in the right walking group is very important, there is no point putting a hyper dog with a dog that doesn’t like it and might get upset.

I offer a free meet and greet before we I start walking to make sure we are a match. All dogs have a three month assessment this way it gives me a chance to really get to know your dog and make sure we are a good fit and there isn’t any behaviour issues I need to worry about.

The Benefits of working with me

I am a strong advocate of only kind and fair methods so when in my care the dogs and animals can be certain there will be NO pain, No Force and No Fear! I am a proud member of PPF - link here and everything I do is positive and reward based.

My van has been professionally fitted by K9 Cages which are dog safe. No dogs share a crate. They all travel in style and and nice and cosy for all weathers.

All clients house keys are unidentifiable to anyone outside Optimistic Dogs Dog Walking and kept locked in a safe when not in use.

Important Notes

Small to medium breeds of any age are welcome, sorry I can not walk large breeds due to back issues. I am happy walking on and off lead (off lead will be once I feel confident we have built up a strong bond and only with your written consent.)

I walk in woods, fields, parks and secure fields.

Please note that my own dogs Tilly, Marley, Lottie and Izzy will join me on my daily group walks if it is suitable. Each bring their own skill set to the group. Marley is a all rounder and loves the larger breeds she enjoys playing but is quite happy to plod along she is the teacher for the younger dogs, Tilly likes to chase and play ball and is great for the less confident dog. Izzy is a stooge dog as she doesn’t bother with other dogs and does her own thing this teaches dogs that not all dogs want to play and they can walk and be calm around other dogs. Lottie is a puppy that is still learning she is super friendly loves other dogs and playing so she is great for the playful dogs that like to run and play.
